Overview
The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (CMM2) plays a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and management of services within the Midwifery Led Unit (MLU). The role has responsibility for quality assurance, effective resource and workforce management, staff development, practice development, facilitation of effective communication, and the provision of professional and clinical leadership.
A key element of the role is the promotion, implementation, and further development of the Supported Care Pathway, in line with the objectives of the National Maternity Strategy, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, woman-centred maternity care.
Organisational Context
The HSE has established six Health Regions, each responsible for the planning, resourcing, and delivery of integrated hospital and community health and social care services, enabling more patient-centred and locally responsive care.

Essential Criteria
Candidates must, by the closing date for applications:
Be registered in the Midwifery Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or be eligible for such registration
And
Have a minimum of five yearsβ post-registration experience, of which two years must be recent experience in a Midwifery Led Unit, Alongside Birth Centre, or Labour Ward
And
Demonstrate the clinical, managerial, and administrative competence required to fulfil the duties of the role
And
Provide evidence of continuing professional development appropriate to the level of the post
