Description:
The ideal candidate will have successful completion of an accredited post-graduate Anesthesia Assistant program, along with a minimum of three (3) years of recent, related clinical care experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) or eligible for membership with the Canadian Anaesthesiologists’ Society (CAS). This role requires strong expertise in anesthesia theory, CAS guidelines, and perioperative clinical practice, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to assess patient responses and make sound clinical decisions in high-acuity environments. Candidates should demonstrate strengths in critical thinking, conflict resolution, organization, and prioritization, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. CPR certification, physical ability to perform required duties, proficiency in operating anesthesia and medical equipment, familiarity with research methods, and experience teaching or mentoring students are highly valued, along with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams.
