Description:
The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education, proficiency in medical terminology, and successful completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, along with a minimum of one (1) year of recent, related healthcare administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to cultural safety, equity, and anti-racism, including an ongoing personal learning journey focused on Indigenous-specific racism and dismantling systemic oppression within healthcare environments. A solid understanding of settler-colonialism, social determinants of health, and their impacts on Indigenous Peoples and equity-deserving groups is essential, along with knowledge of and commitment to upholding key provincial and national frameworks such as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, In Plain Sight Report, DRIPA, UNDRIP, MMIWG Calls for Justice, the BC Human Rights Code, Anti-Racism Data Act, Distinctions-Based Approach, and related foundational policies guiding inclusive, ethical healthcare delivery.
