Main Duties of the Post
The post holder will work collaboratively with fellow Consultant Radiologists, including those with specialist interest in Paediatric Imaging, to deliver high-quality, timely radiology services to patients.
The appointed Consultant will actively support the paediatric multidisciplinary team and will be allocated paediatric imaging reporting in accordance with their specialist expertise for approximately 50% of their workload. The remaining 50% of the workload will involve reporting adult imaging studies.
The Consultant will participate fully in the general radiology on-call rota.
The Consultant will contribute to the education and training of Radiology Specialist Registrars, supporting both clinical development and professional progression.
Organisational and Management Responsibilities
Participate in structured processes for resource planning, utilisation, service development, evaluation, and performance review.
Provide, maintain, and validate all relevant information required by the Health Service Executive, contributing accurately to service planning and performance assessment.
Agree and maintain a Work Schedule and Practice Plan with the employer that ensures optimal use of available resources and facilities and aligns with the schedules of consultant colleagues.
Engage in representative and collaborative working arrangements to ensure the effective delivery of comprehensive radiology services.
Supply the Health Service Executive with appropriate and reasonable information demonstrating compliance with the agreed Work Schedule and contractual commitments.
Work collaboratively with the organisation to identify, mitigate, and manage clinical and organisational risks.
