Education and Development
Participate in all mandatory training programmes.
Engage actively in a structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD) process and promote both professional and personal development within the team.
Participate in the HSE Performance Achievement process with the Line Manager and relevant staff.
Develop and deliver nutrition education and training programmes for Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) colleagues and student therapists within the specialist area.
Lead, supervise, and mentor assigned members of the nutrition and dietetic team.
Develop, coordinate, and evaluate practice placement programmes for student dietitians.
Disseminate advanced clinical practice guidelines and develop clear, current, evidence-based resources for patients, carers, and health professionals for local and/or national use.
Maintain professional knowledge and practice standards through ongoing CPD and attendance at relevant courses.
Engage in peer support and clinical supervision with Dietitian colleagues.
Partner with local General Management in the provision and oversight of student therapist placements and support practice educators.
Ensure newly qualified therapists receive appropriate induction and clinical supervision.

Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety legislation.
Implement and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Identify, assess, manage, and monitor risks within the designated area of responsibility.
Document and report hazards, near misses, adverse events, and accidents in accordance with organisational guidelines.
Maintain a working knowledge of relevant HIQA Standards including National Standards for Healthcare, Infection Prevention and Control, and Hygiene Standards, and comply with associated HSE protocols.
Support and participate in sustainability initiatives relating to energy, water, and waste reduction to promote a low-carbon, efficient health service.
Management
Coordinate and ensure delivery of the specialist nutrition and dietetic service.
Review and allocate resources in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Advise the Operational Manager and/or Head of Discipline on issues related to service performance, development, and optimal functioning within the specialist area, including CNRT service development.
Support the setting and monitoring of clinical standards, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
Lead and promote a culture of outcome evaluation, quality improvement, data collection, and clinical audit.
Oversee the maintenance of accurate clinical and administrative records in accordance with governance requirements, FOI legislation, and GDPR.
Develop and implement strategic service and business plans and report on outcomes.
Lead succession planning and ensure sustainability of service developments.
Establish appropriate evaluation mechanisms and engage in continuous auditing to maximise effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
Collaborate with IDT colleagues and ensure effective communication across disciplines.
Engage with national and international clinical specialists to promote excellence and support research and innovation.
Serve on committees and working groups and provide specialist expertise as required.
Represent the dietetic department/team at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
Promote effective team working and a culture of diversity and respect.
Support and participate in IT developments relevant to clinical care and service administration.
Maintain awareness of organisational and wider health service developments.
Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role, as may be assigned from time to time, contributing to ongoing service development.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Statutory Registration, Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must, on the latest date for receipt of applications:
i. Be registered, or eligible for registration, on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
ii. Have five yearsβ full-time (or equivalent) post-qualification experience, of which at least four years must be post-registration clinical experience in the required area of specialism.
iii. Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence within the specialism.
iv. Provide evidence of CPD relevant to the specialism, including postgraduate qualifications or relevant courses.
v. Demonstrate achievement in clinical audit, quality improvement, practice development, teaching, and research.
vi. Provide proof of statutory CORU registration prior to appointment.
vii. Demonstrate the knowledge, expertise, leadership, and professional ability required to fulfil the duties of the role.
2. Annual Registration
Practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Dietitians Register (CORU).
Annual registration must be confirmed to the HSE via the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
Candidates must be fully competent, capable of undertaking the duties attached to the post, and in a state of health that ensures the capacity to provide regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Candidates must be of good character.
Post-Specific Requirements
Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in neuro-rehabilitation or a specialist neuro-rehabilitation setting relevant to the role, which may include postgraduate training/education in neuro-rehabilitation.
Demonstrate experience in service development, quality improvement, or similar initiatives relevant to the role.
Other Requirements
Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the duties of the role.

Eligible candidates must be:
i. EEA, Swiss, or British citizens,
OR
ii. Non-EEA citizens with permission to reside and work in the State (see Appendix 2 of Additional Campaign Information for acceptable immigration stamps and refugee status),
OR
iii. Suitably qualified, non-resident non-EEA citizens.
