Cork University Hospital
Cork University Hospital (CUH) is a Model 4 tertiary referral centre and the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in the Republic of Ireland. It is designated as a Major Trauma Centre for adult services and a Trauma Unit for paediatric services, playing a critical role in the response to major medical emergencies.
CUH delivers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical specialties on its campus and serves as the tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area and the supra-regional areas of Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford, and Kilkenny, providing services to a population of over 1.2 million people.
The hospital is Irelandβs largest paediatric unit, co-located with maternity and adult services, enabling integrated, patient-centred care. CUH employs more than 3,500 whole-time equivalent staff across multiple professional disciplines and is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science at University College Cork.
