Description:
Applicants must hold current full practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and demonstrate proven competence in Hospitalist Acute Medicine and medical–surgical nursing practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in managing complex adult medical patients, with in-depth knowledge of the pathophysiology of common diagnoses and clinical conditions such as dementia, delirium, diabetes, liver disease (including cirrhosis), renal disease, failure to thrive, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), urinary tract infections (UTIs), pneumonia, and alcohol and substance use disorders. Excellent assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care in a fast-paced acute hospital environment are essential for success in this role.
