Description:
Essential Criteria
Candidates must, by the closing date for applications, meet the following requirements:
1. Professional Qualifications and Experience
(a) Eligible applicants must:
(i) Be registered in the Register of Dentists for Ireland, maintained by the Dental Council of Ireland, or be entitled to be so registered
And
(ii) Be registered in the Register of Dental Specialists for Ireland, Division of Orthodontics, or be entitled to be so registered
And
(b) Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of the administrative and organisational aspects of orthodontic services
And
(c) Possess a high standard of professional knowledge and have relevant and satisfactory clinical experience in orthodontics
And
(d) Demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability, including a high standard of professional suitability and administrative competence, to effectively discharge the duties of the post
2. Health
Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties of the role and be in a state of health that indicates a reasonable prospect of providing regular and efficient service.
3. Character
Candidates must be of good character and suitable for appointment.
Important Note on Registration
Appointment to, and continuation in, posts requiring statutory registration is conditional upon the post holder maintaining annual registration with the Dental Council of Ireland in the relevant division.
Educational Note
Passes must be obtained at Ordinary or Higher Level. Foundation level passes are not acceptable. Qualifications must be achieved through the Leaving Certificate Established or Leaving Certificate Vocational programmes. The Leaving Certificate Applied Programme does not meet eligibility requirements.
