Purpose of the Post
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 β Tissue Viability plays a pivotal role in the delivery of specialist care related to tissue viability, wound management, and wound prevention across clinical services. The post holder is responsible for service planning, coordination, and the effective management of resources within areas relating to wound care.
Key responsibilities include:
Quality assurance and governance
Resource and workforce management
Staff supervision, support, and development
Practice development and implementation of best practice
Facilitation of effective communication
Provision of professional and clinical leadership
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must, by the closing date for applications:
(i) Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or be eligible for registration
And
(ii) Have a minimum of five yearsβ post-registration experience (or an aggregate of five yearsβ full-time experience), of which two years must be in the specialty or a related area of Tissue Viability and Wound Management
And
(iii) Demonstrate the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity required to discharge the duties of the role
And
(iv) Provide evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to the role
And
(b) Possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and professional suitability to fulfil the clinical, managerial, and administrative functions of the post
2. Annual Registration
On appointment, the post holder must:
Maintain live annual registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) on the relevant division of the register
Confirm annual registration with the HSE via the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC)
3. Health
Candidates must be medically fit and capable of undertaking the duties of the post, with a reasonable prospect of providing regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Candidates must be of good character and suitable for appointment.
Post-Specific Requirements
Demonstrate depth and breadth of nursing experience in the specialist area of Tissue Viability
Have undertaken, or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe, a Postgraduate Diploma in Tissue Viability
Have undertaken, or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe, the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate
