Description: Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently to outpatients, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Provide clear and compassionate counseling to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, interactions, and storage instructions. Review and verify physician prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, and potential drug interactions. Maintain up-to-date patient medication records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy and outcomes. Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and ensure the availability of essential medications in the outpatient pharmacy. Participate in medication reconciliation processes to prevent errors and ensure continuity of care. Stay informed about new drugs, therapies, and pharmaceutical best practices relevant to outpatient care. Support quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures.
