Description: Prepare the Operation Theater for all elective and emergency surgical procedures, ensuring readiness as per clinical protocols. Coordinate and communicate with Senior Consultants, Anesthetists, OT Technicians, and support staff regarding scheduled, elective, and emergency procedures to ensure timely and smooth execution. Explain procedural details to patients in the ward, address patient concerns, and ensure clarity regarding the planned surgical intervention. Prepare patients for procedures in accordance with the pre-procedure checklist, and as per instructions from the treating clinician and anesthetist, including assisting with patient preparation when ward support staff are unavailable. Ensure that all required consents, documentation, and financial clearances are completed prior to the procedure. Verify availability, sterility, and readiness of surgical instruments, consumables, and required supplies before the procedure begins. Position patients appropriately for surgery and perform scrubbing, painting, and draping in accordance with procedural requirements. Assist the surgical and anesthesia teams during operative procedures as required. Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status during the intra-operative period and in the recovery room, and immediately report any abnormalities to the anesthetist or attending clinician. Collect, label, and safely transport tissue and blood samples along with the Test Requisition Form (TRF) to the laboratory for diagnostic testing. Safely shift patients to the recovery ward and continue post-procedure monitoring as per protocol.
