Description: Job Description: Physiotherapy Assistants play a vital role in supporting physiotherapists in providing rehabilitative care to patients with physical injuries, disabilities, or impairments. They assist with various aspects of patient care, including exercise programs, therapeutic modalities, and patient education, under the supervision and direction of licensed physiotherapists.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Support: Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning during therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the rehabilitation process.
Exercise Programs: Assist in implementing prescribed exercise programs and therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, and functional abilities.
Therapeutic Modalities: Assist with the application of therapeutic modalities, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction, as directed by the physiotherapist.
Monitoring Progress: Observe and document patients’ responses to treatment interventions, including changes in symptoms, functional abilities, and compliance with exercise programs.
Equipment Setup: Prepare and set up equipment and treatment areas for therapy sessions, ensuring that all necessary supplies and tools are readily available.
Patient Education: Provide basic education to patients and their families on exercises, home care techniques, and strategies for maximizing recovery and managing symptoms between therapy sessions.
Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and billing procedures, to support the smooth operation of the physiotherapy clinic or department.
Hygiene and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in treatment areas, equipment, and patient care environments, in accordance with infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.
Communication: Communicate effectively with physiotherapists, other healthcare professionals, and patients to convey relevant information, report patient progress, and address any concerns or issues that arise during therapy sessions.

Education Qualifications: Education: Completion of a diploma or certificate program in physiotherapy assistance from an accredited institution.
Certification: Some jurisdictions may require certification or licensure as a physiotherapy assistant or equivalent credentialing to practice in the field.
Clinical Experience: Previous experience or training in a healthcare setting, preferably in a physiotherapy clinic, rehabilitation center, or hospital environment.
